जसपुर (महानाद) : नगर व क्षेत्र में महाशिवरात्रि का पर्व बड़े धूमधाम व हर्षाेल्लास के साथ मनाया गया। श्रद्धालुओं ने हरिद्वार से कांवर में पवित्र जल लाकर शिवलिंग पर अर्पित किया। मन्दिरों में पूजा-अर्चना करने के लिए बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु पतरामपुर रोड़ स्थित श्री शिव मंदिर पहुंचे। सवेरे से ही मंदिर के अंदर से बाहर तक सैकड़ो श्रद्धालुओं की लाइन लग गई। कतारबद्ध होकर श्रद्धालुओं ने मंदिर में जलाभिषेक किया। एसआई कौशल भाकुनी एवं बबीता गोस्वामी ने अपनी टीम के साथ मुख्य मंदिर में व्यवस्था बनाई।

इसके अतिरिक्त नगर के श्री काली मंदिर, श्री राधा कृष्ण मंदिर, श्री धर्मशाला मंदिर, धोकलिया मंदिर, श्री ठाकुर मंदिर, मुख्य बाजार सब्जी मंडी स्थित श्री राधा कृष्ण मंदिर, कोतवाली परिसर स्थित श्री शिव मंदिर, मौहल्ला जोशियान स्थित मंदिर, हनुमान चबूतरा स्थित मंदिर सहित ग्राम ध्याननगर, ग्राम हल्दुआ, कुंडा, ग्राम गढ़ीनेगी, निवारमंडी, महुआडाबरा, नादेही आदि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कांवरियों एवं ग्रामीणों ने मंदिरों में पहुंचकर पूजा अर्चना की एवं शिवलिंग पर जलाभिषेक किया।

वहीं विधायक आदेश सिंह चौहान, पूर्व विधायक डॉ. शैलेन्द्र मोहन सिंघल, भाजपा नेता विनय रोहेला, डॉ. एमपी सिंह, अशोक खन्ना, कोतवाल आशुतोष कुमार आदि ने मंदिरों में जाकर जल चढ़ाया।

महाशिवरात्रि की कथा –
गरुड़ पुराण के अनुसार एक समय निषादराज अपने कुत्ते के साथ शिकार खेलने गए थे। काफी देर तक जंगल में घूमने के बाद भी उन्हें कोई शिकार नहीं मिला। वे थककर भूख-प्यास से परेशान हो गए और एक तालाब के किनारे बिल्व वृक्ष के नीचे बैठ गए। वहां पर एक शिवलिंग था। अपने शरीर को आराम देने के लिए निषादराज ने कुछ बिल्व-पत्र तोड़े, जो शिवलिंग पर भी गिर गए। अपने पैरों को साफ करने के लिए उन्होंने उन पर तालाब का जल छिड़का, जिसकी कुछ बून्दें शिवलिंग पर भी जा गिरीं। ऐसा करते समय उनका एक तीर नीचे गिर गया, जिसे उठाने के लिए वे शिवलिंग के सामने नीचे को झुके। इस तरह शिवरात्रि के दिन शिव-पूजन की पूरी प्रक्रिया उन्होंने अनजाने में ही पूरी कर ली। मृत्यु के बाद जब यमदूत उन्हें लेने आए, तो शिव के गणों ने उनकी रक्षा की और उन्हें भगा दिया। मान्यता है कि जब अज्ञानतावश महाशिवरात्रि के दिन भगवान शंकर की पूजा का इतना अद्भुत फल मिलता है तो समझ-बूझ कर महादेव का पूजन कितना अधिक फलदायी होगा।
